Baseball WAGS Favorite Workouts

It’s finally February, which means spring training is right around the corner! Spring training is either in Arizona or Florida, depending on what team you are on. Thankfully, both states offer warm weather during otherwise cold winter months. Since these two months force wives and girlfriends to relocate across the country for a short period of time, the girls must find activities to consume their time while their guys are busy working on the field. Some of my favorite bonding activities with other WAGs include exploring different workout classes in these new cities. (Let’s be honest, our guys are staying in shape for a living… so we might as well try to get in shape for an hour).

Want to know which workout classes WAGs like the best? Keep reading to find out!

Sarah Burns, Kansas City Royals: ORANGE THEORY + BARRE 3

“Orange Theory is the best because it combines weights with cardio. I also love barre3 because it works the stabilizer muscles.”

Kara Stone, LA Dodgers: ORANGE THEORY

“Orange Theory! I started working out there the beginning of 2016 Spring Training and was in the best shape of my life. It was a combination of healthy eating and training there 4-6 times per week. The best part is there are Orange Theory gyms all over the US and with the unlimited memberships you can go to ANY location. I sweat it all out”

Dana Lawrie, Chicago White Sox: ORANGE THEORY

"During past offseasons I had been working out mainly at home. While we have a pretty great set up for home fitness, let's be honest with no one pushing me I definitely wrapped up early many, many days. So I decided to try orange theory and I'm in LOVE! It gives a competitive push and keeps me on my toes. I love any sort of workout class that is intense with constant motion."

Jessica Bolton, Oakland Atheltics : BARRE 3

“Barre 3- I started working out in the Scottsdale location during Spring Training of 2016. After a few classes I was hooked! Barre3 focuses on a combination of ballet, yoga, and Pilates. They emphasize balance (physically and mentally), and foster a healthy body/healthy mind approach through movement and diet. I love it because it has helped me tone up, and they really focus on the booty. They integrate low impact cardio and a whole bunch of squat exercises. I highly recommend if you are looking to tone up and focus on your core! Not to mention-it's all about women supporting women with barre, and I've met some amazing ladies!”

Brittany Ross, Boston Red Sox: YOGA

“Yoga is definitely my favorite. I started practicing about five years ago when Robbie started in the MLB. I was dealing with stress and anxiety and thought my cheer and dance background would be helpful in starting yoga. I became certified to teach almost two years ago. And now teach Heated Power Vinyasa, Vinyasa and Hatha style classes for all levels. I love yoga because it not only trains your body to be in its best physical shape but also strengthens your mind and soul. I'm on my yoga mat daily learning and exploring new parts of my body. Yoga teaches you there's a strong connection between mind, body, and soul. You can practice yoga anywhere which is very much needed in my crazy travel schedule. I truly believe yoga is for everybody and every body. Try it out, you might just surprise yourself! “

B.W., New York Yankees: ORANGE THEORY

"My current favorite is orange theory because there's someone telling you what to do and they force you to go with their scheduling policy. Makes it harder to come up with an excuse not to go."
